Britney, American Idol, Rehab, Miscellaneous

Britney is pregnant (first heard about it on TRL yesterday). Congrats Brit. Let's hope you fare better than Kevin's ex.

Hilary Swank and her wifesband, Chad, are creating a new show, Celebrity Charades, for AMC. Who knew they were geeky? Guess they play the game at their lovely townhouse in the West Village (they live on Charles Street) with their celebrity friends. I live nearby - invite me!

Kiera Knightly is quoted as saying she has awful skin. Her skin always looks flawless but she attributes this to a good dermatologist and four hours of makeup. So that's the trick.

Constantine is a hottie. He looked great last night and sounded good. Bo is a better singer but Constantine is hotter. There is no way he will be voted off tonight. I voted for him about 10 times and I'm certain my friends and the rest of the country especially the tween queens voted for him too!

One goes in, one goes out. Billy Joel is out of rehab and Joaquin Phoenix is in rehab for alcoholism. You'd think he would've learned something after his brother River OD'd.

Forgot to mention that Sahara was the number one movie last weekend. Although there's plenty of eye candy (Matt looks great especially with his shirt off), the movie is still a blatant rip off of Indiana Jones and a poor one at that. I guess I'm most annoyed with Cruz and her ill attempts at speaking English and trying to act. Just because you're wearing a pair of glasses, does not make you smart.

Renee Zellwegger is blonde again. I thought she looked decent as a redhead. But the best she has ever looked was in Jerry Maguire and I think she looked good in the first Bridget Jones (she gained far too much weight in the second one).

TV roundup: 24 Amazing, The Bachelor, Not So Great

Just me and my 24 back here...

The best and worst of TV.

Last night, I watched another episode of 24. Wow, what a great show! I am amazed at how, week after week, they create an exciting, intelligent, well-written show, unlike most of the drivel on TV.

Speaking of drivel, I also watched the train wreck that is The Bachelor (Tivo'd it and watched 24 live). Charlie O'Connell is no Jerry O'Connell. In an attempt to attract viewers (any will do), they had a cameo by Jerry (finally). I think the one thing that this cameo succeeded in doing is showing that the wrong brother is on the show.

Jerry is cute (Charlie is not - he looks like a beat up, poorer version of his brother), Jerry seems sweet and charming (Charlie does not, how can anyone sound sweet with that thug accent of his?), Jerry is successful (Charlie is not - what exactly is it that Charlie does? According to his bio, he's an actor. Oh really? How come we've never heard of him?). Case closed.

Oh, and the sage advice Jerry gave his younger brother? No hot tub scenes - don't do any - it'll get you into trouble. Oh really? I think this show needs all the trouble it can get. The ratings have been disappointing and I think the worst out of any of the bachelor shows.

Having said all of this, I do enjoy watching parts of the show, like when the girls fight over him. A sad state of affars but nonetheless, entertaining to watch.

Oprah gives away some $ (finally) and reveals her weight!

money or more money?

Oprah and her billions part ways...not really. According to pagesix.com, Oprah gave out $5,000 to each staff member at her O magazine to celebrate the magazine's 5th anniversary. While $5,000 seems like a lot of money, relatively speaking it's not. Just compare it to what Wall Streeters earn and it's a drop in the bucket. Also, remember the cars she gave away on the show? Those were worth over $26,000 and she gave them to complete strangers, not people working to meet her high standards. Shame on Oprah - she has over a billion dollars - she should give more away especially to her hard-working employees.

Oprah not so fat anymore. On her website, Oprah reveals that she weighs 163 pounds and is 5 feet 6 1/2 inches tall. Interesting and a very brave move (how many women in Hollywood or anywhere for that matter, would confess to their actual weight?). She says she's not 140 pounds as the tabloids claim and she hasn't weighed that amount since the seventh grade. Oprah looks great - whether or not she had any work done.

Demi, the new face of Versace?

Demi Moore was spotted dining with Donatella Versace, famed photographer Mario Testino and her boytoy, Ashton Kutcher (at the new restaurant, V in London). Speculation is that Donatella loved Madonna and her Kaballah ways so much, she's taken a liking to Demi for the same reasons (of course, they both look fab for their age too). Let's hope they don't severely airbrush what's left of Demi as they did with Madonna - she looked very weird - huge head and fright white skin.

J Ho almost mowed down, Courtney Cox in town, Justin Timberlake and Cameron play at SNL, Britney reveals all to an ex-Star's daughter

Over the weekend, paparazzi were following Jennifer Lopez (aka J Ho) around town in California. Apparently, they were trying to get the 'money shot' and nearly caused a car accident in Beverly Hills (in front of the Police station). J Ho claims she was almost run over but all is well and the diva's unscathed (as reported on E!). It was also reported that J Ho will officially change her name to Jennifer Anthony. Didn't Jennifer Aniston change her name to Jennifer Pitt? A sure bad sign if ever there was one...

Courtney Cox will be making an appearace tomorrow at Sephora, 5th Avenue and 48th Street, from 12pm to 1pm. La Cox is hawking a new skincare line, Kinerase. She does look great (especially in the photo on the kinerase website) but it would be interesting to see her up close and personal. Wonder if her hot hubbie will be there...(from Daily Candy)

Cameron Diaz hosted SNL and her hot boyfriend along with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore helped her. They all appeared in one funny skit where JT and Jimmy played the Bee Gees. JT is really funny; it should only be a matter of time before he can showcase his comedic skills (I think he's starring in a DeNiro flick soon but that's a drama). Someone write something funny for JT!

After SNL, the gang headed to rockcandy, a new club in midtown, and partied the night away (from gawker).

We still don't know if Cameron and JT are engaged but Cameron did announce on SNL that her younger sister is engaged.

Britney interviewed by a 10-year old. While it's a cute move, how on earth did a 10-year old figure out which hotel room was Britney's? Apparently, the 10-year old slipped a note under B's hotel room. How resourceful. I bet she bribed her way. They're starting out younger and younger these days.

THIS JUST IN! Defamer reports that the little 10 year old is actually the daughter of a former Star magazine employee. That's how that little devil got to Britney! Like mother, like daughter.

Brandon's back in town! Long live 90210!

Jason Priestly is in town filming a pilot for a TV show, Love Monkey (couldn't they think of a better name?). Jason plays an A&R executive (the coolest job in town) scouting cool bands, attending concerts, just being cool in general. Yesterday, the crew was filming in the East Village near CBGB's on Bleecker between Lafayette and Bowery. The tabloids have been making fun of Brandon because he's put on so much weight. While it's nice to see the media make fun of male celebrities and their weight issues for a change, it's not fair as Brandon's been recovering from his racing accident. Come to think of it, that was a few years ago. Hello! Heard of Weight Watchers? You can endorse them; Kirstie's got Jenny Craig.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - The Hottest Couple in the World!

The Hottest Couple in the World!

Did they or didn't they? It really doesn't matter. Brad and Angelina are truly the hottest couple in the world. Just look at this marketing poster for their new movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Smokin! Can't wait to see the movie - it opens in June - and their steamy love scenes.

Eros not eros

Attended a special screening of the new movie Eros at the Time Warner Center last night. Very posh screening rooms with comfy club chairs that swiveled. Crowd was chichi and well-dressed. The movie itself was dreadful. Three movies in one by three 'talented' directors. The first movie was the best with the second (by Soderbergh) mildy interesting and the third, a pathetic attempt at passing porn off as cinematic. Yuck. A waste of time. Soderbergh should stick to making Oceans 11 sequels - pleasing George, Brad and Julia (no small feat) seems to be his forte.

Shake Shack

Buzz, buzz, buzz.
There has been so much buzz about Danny Meyer's recently opened (2nd year in a row) Shake Shack in Madison Square Park (23rd @ Madison). So I gave in and took the last of my unemployed dollars to have lunch there yesterday - it was a beautiful day to eat outdoors, 77 degrees and mild.
Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype with the exception of the shake, a wonderfully sweet (a bit too sweet?) frothy concoction. The burger was rather small, rather undercooked and cold. What little they did put of the 'special sauce' was relegated to the bottom of the sandwich. The fries are really bland - how could they use frozen fries? No one would believe these fries to be anything but frozen - they taste like cardboard.
As I said, the shake was great if a bit sweet (I ordered the caramel) and also a bit on the small side (for $4.00, you'd expect a slightly larger drink).
Now I know and I can spend $11.00 elsewhere.
I'd recommend you go just so you're not the only one who hasn't. But not worth going back for.
