It's official! Jessica Simpson Files for Divorce

More bad news for the Simpson family today. Jessica has officially filed for divorce from Nick Lachey.

In Touch Weekly is reporting the news on their website.

As In Touch reported exclusively earlier today, Jessica Simpson has filed for divorce in Los Angeles.

Her attorney, Robert Kaufman (Jennifer Aniston's attorney), cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the end of her three-year marriage to Nick Lachey.

In the papers, which In Touch has obtained, Jessica requested her name be restored and asked the court not to award spousal support to Nick.

The decision to file papers came after Nick and Jessica spoke by phone on Wednesday and were unable to resolve their problems.

A source close to the couple tells In Touch: “Jessica has made every effort to make it work with Nick, but she doesn’t want to put her life on hold any longer and is trying to move forward.”
