Golden Globes
The Golden Globe nominations will be announced a week from today (December 13th) at 5 am. Los Angeles time.
2005 was not a stellar year for movies. But there are a handful of 'quality' movies that stand out.
Expect "Walk the Line", "Pride & Prejudice", "Memoirs of a Geisha", "Cinderalla Man" and "Munich" to get nominations.
As far as actors go,
Kiera Knightly will most likely be nominated for her role as Elizabeth Bennett.
Crusty, rusty Russell Crowe should get a nom for Cinderalla Man - the movie no one went to see (even though it was released twice).
Certainly, Joaquin Phoenix will get a nomination for his stunning portrayal of Johnny Cash (not a stretch for Joaquin to play a boozy womanizer although he isn't known for his signing).
Also, Reese Witherspoon is a lock for a nom as his talented wife.
Ziyi Zhang will definitely be nominated for her portrayal of the main geisha (even though she is dressed as a bride the film's premiere).
