The formal introduction of Pax Thien Jolie to his new mother didn't exactly go smoothly: The 3-year-old Vietnamese boy started crying when Angelina Jolie knelt down to speak to him at Thursday morning's welcoming ceremony at Tam Binh Orphanage in Ho Chi Minh, according to the orphanage director, Mr. Nguyen Van Trung. Jolie wasn't phased. "She told me she understands – that it's normal for all young children to be scared," Trung recalled Thursday. Jolie took the boy aside in a separate room from the ceremony for the boy to recover his composure. "Later he was okay, very cheerful and happy," Trung said. "He even played with his new brother Maddox."

Jolie star completed adoption procedures in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday morning after picking her new son up from the orphanage – the same one that she and Brad Pitt visited during a trip to the former Saigon last November. This time, Jolie came without Pitt: She adopted the boy as a single parent because Vietnam's adoption regulations don't allow unmarried couples to co-adopt. But Jolie didn't come alone to the orphanage: she brought along son Maddox to meet his new brother.

The boy's main caretaker at the orphanage, Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Tuyen, said there was a reason that Pax – usually known as an exceptionally cheerful child – was caught off guard Thursday: He wasn't actually told by the staff that he was being adopted that day. "We did not say anything to him, afraid we might put pressure on him and more frightened," Tuyen said. "We just told him that we are taking him out. You are going to play outside – play with a mother and father." Still, the orphanage staff prepared him as best they could: They packed a small box with two sets of clothes for him to take, and his favorite toys, especially a small plastic piano. They also taught him a few phrases of English: "How are you?" and "What's your name?" Tuyen said she'll miss the boy but adds that any day a child is adopted is a special day at the orphanage.

"We are glad that he's adopted. He's very clever and I hope he has a good life," Tuyen said. "We just hope he will return to visit us one day."

Nicole must also be lusting after Brad because she can finally wear heels and not tower over a man like she does with Keith and like she did with Tom Cruise.

"We are saddened to announce that Reese and Ryan have decided to formally separate," the couple's rep said in a statement released to TMZ on Monday.
"They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time.

Sources tell TMZ that Witherspoon has contacted celebrity divorce lawyer Robert Kaufman, who has represented Jennifer Aniston, Roseanne Barr and Lisa Marie Presley. The couple of seven years have two children, Ava, 7, and Deacon, 3.

No one specific event is said to have triggered the split. A source tells TMZ that the decision to separate was “cumulative.” The couple have admitted to attending marriage counseling in the past. "We're still trying to figure out the mystery of marriage," Witherspoon told In Style magazine in 2004. "It isn't one happy joy-ride, and I so admire couples who've been together forever. Ryan and I were practically babies when we met, and then we were having babies. But we've matured a lot. I've become less judgmental and more understanding. He helps me find the good in people and the best parts of myself, and we've really discovered balance." Divorce papers have not yet been filed. Phillippe is currently receiving acclaim for his role in the Clint Eastwood film Flags of Our Fathers. Witherspoon, who won the best actress Oscar for her performance in 2005's Walk the Line, will next be seen in Penelope, alongside Christina Ricci.

Okay, so I said that Kate Hudson's breakup was good news for Matthew McConaughey, her very flirty co-star from "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" but actually, it's great news for Owen "Butterscotch Stallion" Wilson!

US Weekly is reporting exclusively that Kate fell for Owen while filming, "You, Me and Dupree."

Interesting. He's a notorious bachelor and she does have a thing for bad boys.

People magazine is reporting that Kate Hudson and her rocker hubby, Chris Robinson, have separated.

Although this news is suprising, if one looks back at recent events, it's not very surprising.

All those shots of her on the beach in Malibu with her pony-tailed little son, Chris Robinson is never around. Grungy rockers don't really like beaches.

However, at her hot brother's wedding, (Oliver Hudson), a few months ago, everyone from Goldie Hawn's family was there except for Chris. How could he miss his brother-in-law's wedding? Unless, they told him not to attend.

Last, Kate is quoted on record saying that if her husband ever cheated, then she didn't want to know. I'm not saying that he cheated but given that he's going back on the road, he probably wanted it to be like 'the good ol' times'.

Shame because she's a cute girl. This is good news for Matthew McConaughey - he's always had a crush on her and when they filmed, "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days", on MTV's Diary, Kate said that he wouldn't stop kissing her and touching her and that she had to remind him that she was married. My favorite show on TV, "Grey's Anatomy" is adding another great actor to the show.

Diahan Caroll of "Dynasty" fame is going to be on the show in September. I remember some choice episodes between her character and Alexis on "Dynasty". I hope she adds some high drama without resorting to the drap soap-opera antics that Desperate Housewives has resorted to last season.

Noticeably absent from this photo, taken on the set of the show this week, is Katherine Heigl. Hmmm, she's probably hanging out with her fiance, that music guy, Josh something or other.

"Cars" managed to stay on top of the box office despite a solid showing by Jack Black's comedy, "Nacho Libre" which debuted this week.
The "Fast and the Furious, Tokyo Drift" also new this weekend, was in third place and the sappy Sandra Bullock/Keanu Reeves flick, "The Lake House" debuted in fourth place.
The absolutely dreadful, unfunny movie, "The Break-Up" continues to rake in money. This is sooo disappointing! Who wants to sit through two hours of bickering? I don't care if it is Vince Vaughn - all of the funny moments he has were shown to death in the previews we've seen months ago. The fact that the so-called writers just inked a $2 million deal for another script they sold is an affront to real screenwriters everywhere.

Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Maniston's movie, "The Break-Up" managed to be the number one movie this weekend despite scathing reviews and a few funny scenes wrapped around a bad movie and a bad actress.

It's no wonder - Universal Studios spent a ton of money marketing the heck out of it. I wonder when they'll break even. The official budget is $52 million but I'm guessing they spent another $20 to $30 million marketing it.

I also think movie audiences are starved for funny movies like last year's "Wedding Crashers" even though this movie is nowhere near as funny. We all know Maniston can't act so fans must have wanted to see the always funny, VV. None of Maniston's movies have done well at the box office so again I think the draw was good ol' Vince. Baby Shiloh may have helped too with all the publicity. You should be thankful Jen and send a gift!

XMen 3 managed to rake in over $175 million in two weeks - no blockbuster movie has done as well thus far. (Good for Fox and for Brett Rattner).

No surprise, The Da Vinci Code was the number one movie this weekend earning $77 million (better than Mission Impossible's opening weekend). Despite bad reviews from critics, moviegoers flocked to see if the movie was as good as the book (it wasn't).

Dreamworks' Over the Hedge debuted in second place with a respectable $37 million although not as good as previous Dreamworks hits. Mi3 finally hit the $100 million after three weeks but is still way below its over $150 million budget.

So the rumors were true, Paul and Heather Mills were not getting along. Interesting.

Rumor has it that she was jealous of all the attention he was getting and she felt that she deserved as much for her humanitarian efforts.

But of course their official statement doesn't mention that; I love how they blame it on the media/papparazzi.

A statement issued by McCartney and his second wife said they had "found it increasingly difficult to maintain a normal relationship with constant intrusion into our private lives."
The brief statement said that "with sadness" the couple agreed to "go our separate ways" but said the parting was "amicable."

He married Mills in June 2002, four years after his former wife, Linda McCartney, died of breast cancer. McCartney and Mills had a daughter in October 2003.

"Separation for any couple is difficult enough, but to have to go through this so publicly, especially with a small daughter, is immensely stressful," the statement said. "We hope, for the sake of our baby daughter, that we will be given some space and time to get through this difficult period."

ABC has decided to move its hottest TV show, "Grey's Anatomy" to Thursday nights. WTF? This does not bode well for Grey's or McDreamy.

The Sunday night one-two punch of "Desperate Housewives and "Grey's" was great for ratings. I think moving the show to Thursday will be very bad for ratings.

Who's going to watch on Thursday night? I'm not certain if the show will be on at 9pm or 10pm. CSI will kill it in the ratings.
What ABC should do is keep it where it is; or move it to Wednesday night after "Lost" given that Invasion has now been yanked off the air. Lost and Greys beautiful together on Wednesday nights.

Wow! What a show! Last night's show was great but also sad and disappointing.
Why did Denny have to die? Shonda Rhimes - you promised you wouldn't kill him!!!!
But I love how Alex comforted Izzy at the end.
I also loved the intern one on ones with the Chief - they were so good.

What I didn't love was the predictability of the show: it was so obvious that Derek and Meredith would get it on - cheap move.
And I knew someone would catch them - my friends and I had a bet as to who would catch them.
I also didn't like that Burke left the hospital without the heart - that was a lame move but one that I guess was necessary to move the story along.

It was obvious that people who were in love at the beginning of the series are still in love:
Meredith and McDreamy
George and Meredith
The chief and Meredith's mom
Alex and Izzy - although in their case I think it was lust but given how tender Alex was in comforting Izzy, this could lead to love.

I just thought the entire episode was very much like a soap opera.
Why deprive Izzy of the happiness she deserved? She finally met someone who understood her, who appreciated her for who she is and not just how she looks. What girl couldn't relate to that?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie want to be left alone!

The two are currently in Namibia (duh!) with their two kids, Maddox and Zahara, and awaiting their third. Besides photos of TomKat's Tomkitten, photos of Brad and Angie's baby are expected to be worth millions.

But Namibian authorities are clamping down on journalists trying to follow Brad Pitt, pregnant Angelina Jolie and her two adopted children after the couple asked for some privacy, according to a newspaper report Sunday.

South Africa's Sunday Times said the couple's security chief gave a local journalist a statement asking that they be left alone.

"We love Africa and to be here in Namibia with our family is very special for us," the statement said. "To the local people who have been so kind and gracious, thank you for making us feel at home.

"As for the press, we kindly ask for privacy so that we can enjoy this beautiful country with our children."

The statement was signed by both Jolie and Pitt.

The Sunday Times said its own photographer and three French photographers were ordered to leave Namibia or face arrest. Journalists require accreditation to work in the country.
Namibian Prime Minister Nahas Angula defended the move, saying the couple should be left alone.

"This lady is expecting," he told the Sunday Times. "You guys are harassing her. Why don't you allow her some privacy? Harassment is not allowed in Namibia.

"If a person says they don't want to be photographed then, of course, that person deserves protection."

The couple and their entourage are staying at the luxury Burning Shores resort hotel between the scenic old colonial German town of Swakopmond and the resort of Walvis Bay, in an area where the desert sand dunes descend spectacularly to the sea.

Despite tight security, photographers have managed to snap images of Hollywood's hottest couple.

The Sunday Times said Jolie and Pitt were spotted last week at a local Kentucky Fried Chicken outlet with her children, Maddox and Zahara, and then went to a pet store to buy a turtle. They also visited a jewelry shop.

A Namibian official said last week that Jolie might have Pitt's baby in the southern African nation.

Jolie, who starred with Pitt in the movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," was first in Namibia when filming the movie "Beyond Borders" in 2002.

Namibia, rich in diamonds and strategic metals and home to 1.8 million people, gained independence from neighboring South Africa after a 23-year war in 1990 and has since been ruled by a democratically elected government.

The country is a popular tourist destination for South Africans for its brilliant scenery and teeming wildlife.

Kids ruled the box office this weekend as a cartoon and kid-friendly movie were the top two movies. "Ice Age 2" garnered $34.5 million (and surpassed the $100 million mark) and "The Benchwarmers" earned a strong $20.5 million. The David Spade movie has a budget of about $33 million (not including marketing).

Next week, "Scary Movie 4" opens and will most likely be the number #1 movie. Also, "Thank you for Smoking" expands into an additional 1,000 theaters so that should also continue to do well ($8,0o0 per theater is the average; the only movie in the top 10 that has a better average is Ice Age 2 with about $8,700 per theater).

"Failure to Launch" did in fact launch into first place at the movies this weekend.
The movie stars Matthew McConaughey as a 35 year-old man still living at home with his parents and Sarah Jessica Parker is hired to help seduce him out of the house.
This movie was really a rehash of "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" but with a twist. The twist - it's not as good. The best part of the movie was Zooey Deschanel and I'd even say Terry Bradshaw and Kathy Bates.

I was shocked when Chloe Dao won "Project Runway." I was certain Daniel Vosovic was going to win but after seeing their collections during Fashion Week, I thought Santino deserved to win because his collection was exquisite - the most beautiful dresses. But not Chloe - I don't think she should've won although I do think she's cute and talented.

Oscar Fashions from last night's show:

Best-dressed - Jessica Alba! She looked stunning in a pale yellow, beaded Versace gown. It was the best yellow dress of the night and there were many. My only critique is that her head looks enormous and her body tiny.

I thought Nicole Kidman looked amazing but after seeing her photo again this morning, I really think she looks like she's going to a wedding...her own perhaps? She didn't walk the red carpet with Keith Urban but he was sitting next to her at the award show.

Kiera Knightley in a burgundy Vera Wang gown. I thought she looked great but I didn't like her strawberry blond hair. I did like her jewels, vintage Bulgari.

Reese Witherspoon wearing a vintage Christian Dior gown. It's a- nice dress but it didn't look that great on her. She did win Best Actress and she is married to Ryan Phillippe so guess it's a win-win for her even though her dress is boring.

Michelle Williams in a canary yellow aka mustard Vera Wang dress. You either love it or hate it.

Must have been awkward for many people including Naomi Watts who had to see her ex, Heath Ledger, and his new fiancee, Michelle Williams in the front row. Remember when Heath broke up with Naomi because he didn't want to have a baby and then he has one with Michelle? Heart-breaking.

Jennifer Aniston in a black Rochas gown. She looks a bit tired and haggard. Why does she look like she's still in mourning? She should've worn a red dress or something with color. Boring Maniston, boring.

Felicity Huffman had a beautiful dress but I didn't think her conservative hair (bun) matched the sexiness of her dress. That deep-plunging necklne requires sexy hair not a boring updo/bun.

Sandra Bullock in a navy blue gown with pockets - another trend of the night. I didn't think she looked that great and she showed up with Keanu Reeves, her old "Speed" co-star; he didn't look that good either. Kind of puffy and bloated looking and the clean-shaven look made him look fat.

Jennifer Garner looked good given post-pregnancy in her yellow gown although she did slip on stage but she had a nice recovery - "I do my own stunts" - and got a nice laugh. I didn't see Ben Affleck there; perhaps he was hiding from his ex, J Ho.

The old Jennifer, Ben Aflleck's ex, wearing a weird olive-green dress. I like the fit and the dress but not the color. It's a bit trashy looking just like her.

Yesterday, IMDB reported that MM thought SJP was peculiar. And I read on the AP wire that the quote was from the Barbara Walters special which I watched last night and there was no mention of it. Instead, there was a bizarre, kinky flirtation going on between MM and BW which ended with a footrub. Ewww.

Anyway, Here's the report from yesterday.

Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker star as onscreen sweethearts in Failure To Launch, but the actor reportedly couldn't stand Parker off-screen and found her "peculiar." The pair were starring in a breezy romantic comedy, but sources on the set say filming was anything but fun. One insider tells Msnbc's The Scoop website, "Matthew gets along with pretty much everyone, but he basically couldn't bear Sarah." The actor recently made an appearance on Oprah Winfrey's talk show and seemed to struggle when asked about the former Sex And The City star. When asked by Winfrey to sum-up working with Parker, the actor eventually came up with, "Great comedic timing." The actor then added, "Very peculiar, too. Man, she's a very interesting woman. Yeah."

Sarah Jessica Parker has laughed off reports of friction with her Failure To Launch co-star Matthew McConaughey. An insider recently told MSNBC's The Scoop that the hunky actor found Parker "peculiar" and "couldn't bear (her)." However, the actress speaks highly of her onscreen sweetheart, saying he was "a pleasure to work with." The 40-year-old star adds she has been a victim of malicious gossip since reports of drama on the set of her long-running Sex And The City series surfaced years ago. One thing's for certain - their new movie, "Failure to Launch" is a poor man's version of "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." And she looks really bad (read: old) in the movie and they make the most unlikely couple. Zero chemistry.

Looking at this picture, I can't help but wonder why the producers of the movie didn't pick Rachel McAdams for the role - she is far better-looking and would've make a more likely coupling with MM. Live and learn.

English actor Hugh Grant reportedly struck a photographer with a manila folder on the streets of New York City on Tuesday. The Four Weddings And A Funeral heartthrob, 45, lashed out at an unnamed paparazzo while walking down Central Park South at 9:20am, according to the New York Daily News. Former Daily News spokesman Ken Frydman, who witnessed the incident, says, "Hugh Grant had his head down, looking at his cell phone, when this young guy started flashing his camera." Grant responded by taking photographers of the snapper with his camera phone, saying, "How do you like it, mate?" before calling the paparazzo a "p**sy" and slapped the manila folder he was carrying across his head. Frydman explains, "The photographer kept smirking at him. He said, 'I don't know what you're so mad about.' (Grant responded), 'You're invading my privacy. This is your last warning, you c**t.' The photographer kept taunting him. That's when Grant kicked him in the butt. Not hard - he was just trying to shove him away. Whining about how lonely he is in one paper then caught bumping and grinding with a ho in another, Josh Lucas sends a mixed message on Valentine's Day.
